The 3 Questions to Ask
Call your current lender and ask what your costs would be to pay off your
current mortgage, also ask them the amount owing today. To help you with that,
find outlined below the questions to ask them. Please get that information to
us so we can determine if we can save some money for you.
We (you and I) need to know exact information from your current lender in order
to determine what is the best option for you. Many lenders recently have been
very difficult in giving their customer straight forward answers to simple
questions. You must insist they tell you the following:
1. What the penalty would be today?
2. If you stay with your current lender, would the penalty be less and if so,
by how much?
3. What is the best rate they can offer you for all terms if you decide to stay
with them?
You are the customer here and are trying to figure out what is best for you.
Once you have that information, we can advise you as to your options, and if it
turns out staying with your current lender is best for you, weI will tell you
that. Be aware that they will likely try to talk you into blending your rate.
This does not necessarily save you money. Inisist that they give you all the
answers so you can determine what is best for you.
